Solid English Acacia Crook Narrow Stick Handle Blank
English Acacia (often Black Wattle) is highly favored for walking stick handle blanks due to its durability, density, and fungus resistance. It is easy to carve with, resists warping, and yields rich, organic wood grain patterns that can be flame-scorched or polished for an elegant, rustic finish. All wood used is UK grown and UK sourced.
All wood kiln, air dried or recycled. I cut a few blanks at a time. I look for grain and interesting patina.
Product Description
A crafted handle blank made from natural wood enabling the buyer to finish. Each handle is finished 'over sized' to allow for waste material to be removed and attach to a shank up to an inch and a quarter in thickness.
How to use
Simple tools and a bit of work will soon have your handle ready to fit to a suitable shank.
I recommend and use a traditional peg and socket joint. I do not recommend or use threaded rods. Wood is a natural material and should be allowed to move and flex. Using a threaded rod does not allow natural movement of the wood therefore is liable to cause breakout.
