Solid English Hornbeam Market (Long Nose) Stick Handle Blank

English Hornbeam wood is one of the hardest, densest temperate hardwoods in Europe. Nicknamed "ironwood" or "muscle wood," its interlocking grain makes it practically impossible to split. This makes it a superb, highly durable, and shock-resistant choice for shaping and carving ergonomic walking stick handles. All wood used is UK sourced and UK grown.

Product Description

A crafted handle blank made from natural wood enabling the buyer to finish. Each handle is finished 'oversized' to allow for waste material to be removed and attach to a shank up to an inch and a quarter in thickness.

How to use

Simple tools and a bit of work will soon have your handle ready to fit to a suitable shank.

I recommend and use a traditional peg and socket joint. I do not recommend or use threaded rods. Wood is a natural material and should be allowed to move and flex. Using a threaded rod does not allow natural movement of the wood therefore is liable to cause breakout.
